Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan - room, buildings, grounds
We have spent 3 weeks at this resort and find it to be one of our favorites. In fact, we chose this location for our wedding in 2001 See Wedding Photos. The setting of the resort is beautiful. Walkways wind through jungle areas complete with wildlife. Rooms are clean and the walk-in shower is one of the nicest we've had at any resort. Everything is constantly groomed and kept spotless.

Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan - Pool
Large pool with lots of seating around the edge. The recent addition of a swim up bar at the adult pool (see below) is a welcome plus. There is also an activities only pool for volley ball, polo, basketball etc.


Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan - Beach
The beach currently (1/27/2004) is very nice. Over the years the beach has had problems with erosion and sandbags (see some of the older photos below), but that was not the case on this most recent visit. The beach has been expanded and the erosion is no longer apparent. Very roomy with basically two tiers and the water is as pretty as anywhere along the coast.
